Lay Readers provide an important ministry in our churches throughout the deanery.  The demands on a Lay Reader’s time and energy can be extensive and often draining.  In acknowledgement and appreciation of this vital ministry, Susan Montague Koyle, Warden of Lay Readers for the Algoma Deanery has arranged to offer a Lenten Prayer Retreat for Deanery Lay Readers.

With the guidance of The Rev. Dr. Jay Koyle and Susan Montague Koyle, Lay Readers will experience quiet prayer, times of reflection, and uplifting worship on the Friday evening and again on the Saturday morning.  This is an opportunity for Lay Readers to deepen their relationship with Christ, spiritually rejuvenate, and expand their understanding of, and enthusiasm for, the discipleship in which we all share.

Participants will be given prayerful gifts along with resource handouts to assist in continuing the nurturing of their prayer life once they return home.

In addition, the Saturday afternoon will be a time of learning and fellowship exploring different areas of ministry as Lay Readers.

The deanery has very graciously agreed to cover the Friday night stay at The Water Tower Inn for any out-of-town participants.
